Meenan P.A. announces the addition of Stephen K. McDaniel as a shareholder of the firm.
Stephen has made significant contributions to Meenan P.A. over the last seven years through his involvement in a number of significant national legislative and regulatory projects for the firm’s clients. His practice encompasses insurance regulatory, service contract, warranty, and motor vehicle ancillary product law. He assists the firm’s clients with structuring their business operations to ensure compliance with existing law, and amending state laws where necessary to further his clients’ business goals. Stephen is a member of the firm’s litigation team adding his unique understanding of the regulatory landscape applicable to the clients he represents in matters requiring litigation. As a lawyer and with his extensive experience working for KPMG as a CPA in Georgia, firm clients benefit from his detailed understanding of both legal and financial issues facing insurers and other regulated businesses.
A native Floridian, born in Sarasota and raised in Tallahassee since he was 6 months old, Stephen is committed to continuing to foster the firm’s commitment to Florida’s insurance industry. Stephen received his Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance at Florida State University, graduating Cum Laude in 1999. He passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam in Georgia where he received the Gold Key Award for scoring the highest score on the exam of the 1,462 candidates sitting. He graduated from the Florida State University College of Law, Summa Cum Laude, in 2004 ranked third in his graduating class, and received the distinction of being selected as a member of the Florida State Chapter of the Order of the Coif.
Prior to law school, Mr. McDaniel worked as a Senior Accountant in KPMG’s Audit Department, where he supervised audit engagement teams in the retail, real estate and banking and financial institutions industries. From August 2004 to August 2006, Mr. McDaniel served as a Senior Staff Attorney to Justice R. Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court. After a two-year stint at the Radey Law Firm he joined the firm in 2008.
“We are very excited about the addition of Stephen as a shareholder of our firm,” said Tim Meenan, Managing Shareholder. “As financial regulation of insurers and other financial institutions becomes more complex, Stephen’s legal and accounting background are invaluable to our clients. Stephen has been a true asset to our clients and we could not be more proud to call him our partner as we move forward.”
