Matthew A. Sirmans joined Meenan P.A. as an associate in 2021. Mr. Sirmans focuses his practice on insurance regulation, administrative law, and litigation.
Before coming to Meenan, P.A., Mr. Sirmans worked for over nine years with the Florida Department of Insurance, and its successor, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, where he represented the Office in complex litigation at the administrative, circuit and appellate courts with an emphasis on enforcement of the Florida Insurance Code and trade secret litigation.
He provided counsel to the Fire Marshal’s Office, as well as to agency staff concerning agent/agency investigations, solvency matters, and forms/rates concerns. Additionally, Mr. Sirmans acted as General Counsel to the Consumer Advocate, Elsie Crowell, where he acted as her designee on the Board of Governors for the FWUA, FWCJUA and the FWC Appeals Committee. He also acted as the Chair of the Compensation Committee for the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office, Board of Governors.
Mr. Sirmans received his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University in 1989, and his Juris Doctor in 1992, from Mercer University School of Law.
