Former state Rep kwoy4vl. Alan Williams has found a home at governmental relations and lobbying law firm Meenan P.A.
The firm announced that Williams, who served eight years in the House before running unsuccessfully last year for supervisor of elections, will focus on local government and legislative work outside Florida.
Under state law, he is prohibited from lobbying lawmakers in Florida for two years after leaving the Legislature. Florida Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran is pushing to extend that ban to six years.
Williams said he has already started providing governmental relations help to the firm’s out-of-state clients.
“It’s a great firm, one that’s committed to its employees, one that’s committed to giving back to the community and one that’s committed to being a leader in civic engagement,” he said. “All those things speak to what I’ve done over the past decade.”
