Our firm monitors legislative and regulatory activities in all fifty states and actively represents the interests of the association as required. Our firm lobbies for the passage of important legislation or adoption of needed regulations as directed by membership of the association. We meet individually with legislators and testify before legislative committees to advance the positions of the association. We also direct and oversee on-site lobbyists in particular jurisdictions where appropriate and necessary. -
ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO TRACKING SYSTEMS:
Our firm routinely accesses electronic state-of-the-art legislative and legal tracking systems using specialized queries to identify and track legislation that affects a particular industry or trade group. Upon request, we also track pertinent issues for individual member companies. -
LEGAL SERVICES:
In our capacity as General Counsel to any association, we evaluate case law, administrative opinions, or other regulatory guidance documents requiring legal analysis affecting association members or the industry overall. Our firm prepares legal memoranda, position papers, and legal correspondence as required and directed by the association. -
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND ADVICE:
Upon request our firm can provide compliance assessments regarding various regulatory requirements that may apply to the business practices of individual members and/or their affiliated companies. -
REPRESENTATION BEFORE DEPARTMENTS OF INSURANCE:
As General Counsel for an association, we represent the interests of the association before Departments of Insurance, Departments of Commerce, Departments of Consumer Affairs, and other regulatory officials in all fifty states regarding issues affecting the particular business of the association. -
WEEKLY REPORTING DURING LEGISLATIVE SESSIONS:
Weekly reports and conference calls are utilized for members during state legislative sessions to report and outline legislative activities relevant to the industry. Legislative alerts on activities requiring immediate attention of members are sent periodically throughout the various legislative sessions. -
UPDATES AND NEWS ARTICLES:
Our firm periodically sends news clips and other articles of interest to members.
