Meenan P.A. announced today that Former State Representative Alan Williams is joining their firm. Williams will initially focus on local government, and legislative work in states other than Florida.
First elected in November 2008 to the Florida House of Representatives by the voters of District 8, encompassing parts of Leon and Gadsden Counties, Williams served a total of 8 years. His Committee assignments included Appropriations, Education, Energy and Utilities (Ranking Member), Economic Affairs (Ranking Member), Ethics and Elections, and the Joint Legislative Budget Commission.
Williams leadership posts included, House Democratic Whip (2012-2014), the Florida Green School Caucus and Florida Prosperity Caucus Chairman. Williams is the Former Chairman of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus and Executive Board Member of the National Conference of Black State Legislators.
Williams also served as a member of the Council of State Government, where he was selected as a Henry Wolcott Toll Fellow, an honor only bestowed upon 48 national leaders annually from all 3 branches of government. He is the past Chairman of Leadership Tallahassee, and a graduate of Leadership Florida Class 25. Representative Williams graduated from Florida A&M University with a B.S, Business Administration, and a M.B.A in Business Management from the FAMU School of Business & Industry.
